Google has recently launched a new feature that will include social results when you type in a term to search. They're calling it Search+. This works only if you use Google+, the company's new social media platform. If you're logged in, it will include based on your social interactions.
Now, when you search for something, there are two results that appear. The "personal results" are the default. You can easily switch to "public results" with the click of a button. In the photo below, the green arrow shows the button.
How is this going to change your business's internet marketing? Well, it could have quite a big impact on how internet users find out about your business. If more people are talking about your company, especially within any given user's social network, your results will show up higher to them. With the default personal search results, everyone gets their own custom results according to their social network.
This may not have such a big impact now because not everyone is on Google+, but it's quickly becoming a popular social networking tool. More and more users sign up every day and with features like this, the competition to other popular platforms like Facebook and Twitter will be fierce.
If you haven't already, sign up for a google+ account and register your business as a page. You could do this quickly and have a fully functional page up in less than 1 hour. If you've used Facebook before, maintaining your Google+ page will be easy. If you're unfamiliar to social platforms, Google's user interface is easy enough that pretty much anybody with any level of computer/internet experience can find their way around.
Just like with Facebook, there are a multitude of businesses and organizations using pages to reach their customers or clients on a more personal level. Merchant cash advance providers, for example, are connecting with business owners. As more and more businesses go online and register for social media networks like Google+, providers of business cash advance financing find that it's a great way to connect with would-be clients.
There are so many different ways this new searching feature can apply to your business and personal lives. Things change all the time and this is a very new technology. Stay ahead of the curve and go social. It doesn't hurt, takes very little time out of your busy day and can pay off in the long run! Get there before your competition does!
